WHO: Dallas Mavericks at the Boston Celtics
WHAT: Trying to win a big road game against one of the better teams in the East
WHERE: TD Garden, Boston MA
WHEN: 6:30 p.m. CST
HOW: ESPN
THE STORY: A pair of step back threes from Luka Doncic broke the spirit of the Boston Celtics the last time these two teams played. The Celtics were missing Marcus Smart in that contest and Dallas played without Kristaps Porzingis.
Both teams are more healthy now, with Jaylen Brown playing despite a questionable tag. Porzingis will see significant action as well with a number of games under his belt since All Star break where he looks much more like the player from last season.
Doncic’s the one to watch, though. After a fantastic performance against the Blazers nine days ago, he looked sluggish against the Timberwolves, then didn’t play against the Pacers or Pelicans. He rounded into a pretty decent game against the Thunder, but they’re rolling out a glorified G-League team these days. The Celtics have the length to bother Doncic all over the court, so it’s worth watching to see if he can turn in an efficient and effective game.
Everyone have fun, see you after the game on Locker Room or on the recap comments.
