THE STORY: After 48 hours of pointless and infuriating discussion about the play-in from the Mavericks (well, mainly owner Mark Cuban) it’s back to business for Dallas in a game that could bring them within a half game of the Portland Trailblazers and that coveted 6 spot.
That’s the thing about Cuban’s whining masquerading as pontificating as love of the game: the Mavericks are able to get out of the play-in tournament if they just take care of business. They’re playing a feisty Memphis Grizzlies team that very much want to make the playoffs in some form, after falling just short in the bubble last year. They’re hungry and GOOD, better than their record I’d reckon. So Luka and KP better come ready to play.
