GAME THREAD: Dallas Mavericks at Minnesota Timberwolves

One last regular season game

NBA: Toronto Raptors at Dallas Mavericks Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs Minnesota Timberwolves

WHAT: 5th or 6th seed?

WHERE: Target Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota

WHEN: 8:00 p.m. CDT

HOW: BallySports

THE STORY: The Dallas Mavericks are officially in the playoffs! But who they’re going to play is still up in the air. A win against the Timberwolves tonight will secure the 5th seed, which would mean either a rematch against the Clippers or a battle with the Nuggets, depending on how those teams do in their respective games tonight.

A loss tonight for the Mavericks could possibly drop them to the 6th seed depending on if the Blazers win, since the Blazers hold the tiebreaker, which would also mean either a rematch against the Clippers or a battle with the Nuggets depending on how those teams do in their respective games tonight.

Although if the Mavericks lose, The Blazers win, and the Lakers win, there will be a three way tie for the 5th seed, which would go to the Mavericks because the three way tiebreaker is a division championship, which the Mavericks have. Now, pay close attention, because in this scenario, the Mavericks would either have a rematch against the Clippers or a battle against the Nuggets, depending on how those teams do in their respective games tonight.

All of these teams also play at 8:00 CDT. Oh and the Nuggets and Blazers are playing against each other. And the Clippers may be trying to lose to get the 4th seed to avoid the possibility of playing the Lakers later in the playoffs, but they are playing against the Thunder, who desperately want to lose for tanking purposes. And almost every other seed in both conferences is still undecided going into tonight. It’s all very straightforward, but if you guys are still confused this might help:

But none of that is what you care about. I know it, you know it, we all know it. You want to talk about the Timberwolves’ new owner. It’s been quite a year for A-Rod, with soaring highs and devastating lows.

But what you really wanna talk about is the power of true love. I mean, can you believe Ben and J-Lo are back together?! There’s hope for all of us! And if you really think about it, hope is what playoff basketball is all about.

So join us one last time this regular season to discuss the Dallas Mavericks, the playoff seeding around the NBA, true love, Bennifer, Gigli and anything else that comes to mind. We love you.
