GAME THREAD: Dallas Mavericks vs. Los Angeles Clippers, Game 3

Let’s keep it going

NBA: Playoffs-Dallas Mavericks at Los Angeles Clippers Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs. Los Angeles Clippers

WHAT: Game 3 of the series

WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas

WHEN: 8:30 p.m. CST

HOW: ESPN or Bally Sports Southwest

THE STORY: Well, this has been fun. In each of the first two games, the underdog Mavericks went into Staples Center and silenced the crowd of cardboard people and Billy Crystal. Luka Doncic has been unstoppable. Some might say he looks marvelous.

The Clippers have tried a variety of things to stop him, but it hasn’t worked. No one has been able to stop him one on one. Especially Pat Beverly. He’s too small.

If they double him, he picks them apart and finds the open man. That’s worked out well, since the Mavs role players have been on fire. Especially, Tim Hardaway Jr., who’s shooting something like 120% from 3.

He’s earning himself some serious cash this offseason, and hopefully it comes out of Mark Cuban’s pocket. The reliable Marc Stein says that’s likely to happen, thankfully.

In Game 1, Luka made a new friend.

In Game 2, he saw an old friend.

In Game 3, he’ll have a lot of friends, since the American Airlines Center is gonna be packed and loud. It’s gonna be fun. Spend Friday night with your friends, here at Mavs Moneyball. It’s gonna be great!
