To the thrill of basketball hungry Slovenians everywhere, Luka Doncic has led the Slovenian national basketball team to its first ever Olympic appearance.
Doncic isn’t the only Maverick represented in Tokyo, though. With the number of international players bolstering its roster, Dallas was bound to have multiple Olympians. Sure enough, rookie Josh Green and the Australian national team — an NBA-heavy lineup that features names like Matisse Thybulle, Dante Exum, Patty Mills, Aron Baynes, Matthew Dellavedova, and Joe Ingles — will also be suiting up in Japan.
Unsurprisingly, Doncic, as the lone NBA player on Team Slovenia and superstar in his own right, will feature heavily in Slovenia’s lineup. Conversely, Green’s playing time during Australia’s qualifying games was sporadic and sparse (something Mavs fans and Green proponents may be used to after his rookie season in Dallas), but nevertheless! Fans of the Mavericks starved for Dallas Basketball would do well to tune into some Aussie games in the hopes of catching some minutes from Green.
Here’s how and when you’ll be able to follow Doncic and Green as the Olympic games kick off this week.
