LAS VEGAS — Time may be running short for Tyrell Terry in Las Vegas. During the Dallas Mavericks’ Wednesday night, 81-80, double overtime loss to the Utah Jazz, Terry checked out with 1:54 remaining in the third quarter and did not return.

The Mavericks indicated that Terry has a groin injury. The team has Thursday off, but players have treatment in the afternoon.

Prior to checking out, Terry was on a roll. In the second quarter, he had a dunk as well as 27-foot three-pointer on back-to-back possessions. The shots helped give the Mavericks a 33-29 lead. Later in the quarter, he connected on a driving reverse layup.

Terry finished the game with 10 points on 3-8 shooting. He also added one rebound and two assists in just under 17 minutes. Through two Summer League games, he’s totaled 32 points on 11-24 shooting, including 4-8 from downtown. He also has three rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

The team hasn’t indicated whether he will play in Saturday’s game against the Nuggets. Dallas is 0-2 in Summer League play.
