It never rains, but it pours for the Dallas Mavericks in Las Vegas. The Summer League team has yet to notch a win at the annual tournament, and their most recent loss to the Sacramento Kings only brought more misfortune.

With 1:18 remaining in the third quarter, backup center EJ Onu subbed out with an apparent injury. He did not return to play. After the game, Mavericks PR indicated that he sustained a left knee injury. The severity isn’t known at this point.

He totaled two points, two rebounds, and two blocks in nearly 14 minutes against the Kings. He returned to the bench after leaving the floor with ice bags taped over both knees.

In four games with the Mavericks, the 6-foot-11 shot-blocking center out of Shawnee State in Ohio has played well in spot minutes off the bench. Onu has totals of four points, eight rebounds, and six blocks.

Onu worked out with the Mavericks prior to joining their Summer League squad. His availability is uncertain going forward.

Dallas is 0-4 Las Vegas and has at least one game remaining.
