WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs. Miami Heat

WHAT: Dallas’ Summer League finale

WHERE: Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV

WHEN: August 17, 2 p.m. CT

HOW: ESPNU or Mavs.com

THE STORY: The Dallas Mavericks wrap up a disappointing stint at Summer League against their old nemesis, the Miami Heat. While the two squads in the desert don’t have the same star power—or any stars, for that matter—the antagonism between the two franchises remain.

For Dallas, this is a chance to notch their first win in Las Vegas. So far, the team has been blown out twice and played in two close overtime contests. Although the Mavericks have shown the competitive fire necessary to win at times, they’ve not been able to find a degree of consistency to get a win.

There have been some positives to come out of their run in Vegas. Forward Eugene Omoruyi landed the final roster spot with the organization, signing a two-way contract. He’s put together a solid four games, he’s averaging 14.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. Dallas’ other two-way player, Nate Hinton, has also had some quality moments on the floor. He’s averaging 9.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.7 steals.

Other players that have looked good include Feron Hunt, Carlik Jones, and Devontae Shuler.

Both Tyrell Terry (groin) and EJ Onu (left knee) suffered injuries during the course of Summer League. It’s unlikely that they will suit up for the final game.
