The Dallas Mavericks (15-8) play host to the Minnesota Timberwolves (17-5) in Dallas Thursday night. The game starts at 7:30 pm and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Southwest. Despite half their rotation under some injury designation, Dallas is riding a four-game win streak. The Wolves have had a day to think about getting whupped by the New Orleans Pelicans. Let’s get to the key things:

  • WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs Minnesota Timberwolves
  • WHAT: A rematch from the pre-season
  • WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
  • WHEN: 7:30 pm CST
  • HOW: Bally Sports Southwest

As far as injuries go, it’s murky for teams as of this writing (I’m putting this together at about 3pm, I usually try to write closer to game time). The Mavericks have Kyrie Irving, Josh Green, Maxi Kleber, and Seth Curry out for one reason or another. Derrick Jones Jr. is questionable and Tim Hardaway is probable. Minnesota has Jaden McDaniels and Anthony Edwards listed as questionable. I suspect both of those guys play.

The Wolves gave Dallas a harsh introduction to start the year, beating the crap out the Mavericks twice in preseason play in Abu Dhabi. That they’ve gone on to be one of the best teams of the regular season assuaged some of the initial fears we had to start the season; they might just be a tough match-up for size-challenged Dallas.

There’s a fair amount on the Mavs Moneyball main page. Please check it out over the course of the game. We’ll have the usual stuff up after the game and maybe more if something cool happens. Thanks so much for hanging out. If you’re an Apple Podcast listener, I am STILL working on the very dumb problem. See everyone after the game, go Mavs!
