The Dallas Mavericks (16-9) continue their road trip and face off against the Denver Nuggets (17-10) in Denver on Monday night. The game will be broadcast on both Bally Sports Southwest and NBAtv and tips off at 8:00 pm. The two teams are essentially tied in the standings with Denver playing two more games this season. The Mavericks come into town rather injured and face a Denver team that’s been rolling as of late (one exception coming in the form of a last-second loss to the Thunder). Let’s get to the key things:

  • WHO: Dallas Mavericks at Denver Nuggets
  • WHAT: The Mavericks vs the NBA Champs
  • WHERE: Ball Arena, Denver Colorado
  • WHEN: 8:00 pm CST
  • HOW: Bally Sports Southwest and NBAtv

On the injury front, Dereck Lively is still out with his ankle issue and was spotted in a walking boot today. Maxi Kleber is still out with his toe injury and we’ve not received any tangible update as to a potential return. Josh Green is out due to his elbow sprain and Kyrie will miss the game as well with his foot issue. Richaun Holmes is questionable as of this writing; his availability would be useful to Dallas as Dwight Powell is the only listed big man that’s healthy.

The Nuggets have some injury report listings, but Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is the only player of note who stands any real risk of not playing and he’s still been in the concussion protocol. Aaron Gordon and Jamaal Murray are each listed as probable on the report.

To be honest, it’s hard to see how Dallas wins this game. They’re so injured and their best chance relies on Luka going nuts. Of course, he’s playing at an MVP+ level right now and that’s more than possible. I hope I’m wrong and we get a great game but largely I’m hoping the Mavericks don’t get ran off the floor.

See you after the game!
