The Mavericks take a two-game losing streak into Houston where they play an excellent Rockets team. Without stars Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, the Mavericks are way behind the 8-ball and looking to show some fight. The Mavericks shoot the second-most threes per game in the league, and the Rockets defend the three at the best percentage. It is going to be an uphill battle for Dallas to stay in the game.
Date and Time: Friday, December 22nd, 2023; 7:00 PM CST
Venue: Toyota Center, Houston, TX.
- Spread: Dallas +8.5 (-115)
- O/U 223.5
- Mavs ML: +270
Odds up to date as of 11:00 AM CST from DraftKings
This game will be ugly. The Mavericks have limited offense available and the Rockets have a staunch defense. The game total here is too high for the quality of basketball that is going to be played. Take the under.
- Alperen Sengun over 25 points (alt line, +260)
- Tim Hardaway Jr. under 22.5 points (-115)
Sengun killed Dallas earlier this year, scoring 31 points in 35 minutes. The Mavericks have a very small lineup available without Dereck Lively, and Sengun will be able to produce efficiently in his minutes tonight.
Hardaway Jr. has had nearly 79 percent of his points assisted this season. Without Doncic and Irving to get him the ball, it’s hard to see where his shots will come from. Additionally, Houston defends the three better than any team so if he does get looks, they won’t be good ones.
There is no play of the day today, this is a good game to keep it light.
