The Dallas Mavericks (16-12) host the San Antonio Spurs (4-23) at home on Saturday night. The game starts at 7:30 pm and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Southwest. The Mavericks are playing on the second night of a back-to-back, but they opted to rest a few key players last night against the Houston Rockets so perhaps we’ll see a rejuvenated Luka Doncic. Let’s get to the key things:
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs San Antonio Spurs
- WHAT: Dallas hopes to stop a losing streak at three
- WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
- WHEN: 7:30 pm CST
- HOW: Bally Sports Southwest
On the injury front things look slightly better for the Mavericks against the Spurs compared to the Rockets game. Kyrie Irving, Josh Green, Maxi Kleber, and Dereck Lively are all listed as out. Which means Luka Doncic and Dante Exum are going to play. The Spurs do not have any injuries of note.
This is Victor Wembanyama’s first trip to the American Airline Center and with Dereck Lively out, he should have free reign to really go at the Mavericks in the paint. Oddly though, he still wants to play outside enough and the Spurs guards don’t seem to love to pass to him.
Dallas needs to get this one tonight, a three-game slide turning into four is not good. While they have good reasons for not winning lately, it’s a long season and every team goes through injury bouts. A win before the big Christmas game against the Suns would be really nice.
Thanks for hanging out at Mavs Moneyball. We’ll have our usual coverage after the game. Go Mavs.
