The Dallas Mavericks (17-12) are on the road Monday night against the Phoenix Suns (14-14) in the NBA’s Christmas Day nightcap, starting at 9:30 pm on ESPN. The Mavericks are riding a nice bump following a huge win against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night. The Suns are hoping to buck a three-game losing streak. Luka Doncic is also on the hunt to surpass 10,000 points. Let’s get to the key things:

  • WHO: Dallas Mavericks at Phoenix Suns
  • WHAT: The Mavericks getting a Christmas Day win
  • WHERE: Footprint Center, Phoenix, Arizona
  • WHEN: 9:30 pm CST

On the injury side of things Dereck Lively is listed as questionable as of this writing (3:30 pm). Kyrie Irving, Josh Green, and Maxi Kleber are all still out. A Lively appearance would be huge for the Mavericks as the Suns are without their starting big man Jusif Nurkic. Additionally, Bradley Beal is out and Damion Lee is out.

I have no reason to say this, but I really think tonight’s going to be a show. With Luka on a milestone watch, on national television, and on the road, I just get the feeling this might be a great game. The Mavericks and Suns do not like each other.

We’ll have stuff during and after the game, but seeing as it’s Christmas, I don’t expect anything crazy. But we’ll see! Thanks for hanging out with us on Christmas, we appreciate your patronage as always. Everyone have a great night and go Mavs.
