The Dallas Mavericks (19-15) host the Portland Trailblazers (9-23) Wednesday night in the first of a set of games in Dallas. The game is on Bally Sports Southwest and starts at 7:30 pm. Dallas needs to get on track after an ugly blowout against the Jazz. Portland is playing much better basketball as of late, going .500 over their last four. Let’s get to the key points:

  • WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs Portland Trailblazers
  • WHAT: Game one of a long home stand for the Mavericks
  • WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas Texas
  • WHEN: 7:30 pm CST
  • HOW: Bally Sports Southwest

On the injury front, Dante Exum is out with a heel contusion and Maxi Kleber is out with his toe issue. Richaun Holmes is questionable as of this writing. For the Blazers, they’re missing DeAndre Ayton and a slew of guys are questionable for various reasons.

The Utah game was awful. Anytime the team you follow gets blown out by a worse team, it’s going to generate conversation and the Dallas loss generated a LOT of chatter. Luka Doncic, a man generally above reproach on this site, would quiet a lot of injury concerns in Mavsland with a dominating performance. Kyrie Irving could use a solid game too following his up-and-down shooting performance against the Jazz.

Starting off on a long homestand with a strong win would be a nice mid-week gift. Let’s hope the Mavericks don’t play down to their opponents.
