The Dallas Mavericks (21-15) host the Minnesota Timberwolves for an early evening Sunday night home game. The game starts at 6:30 pm CST and will be broadcast on Bally Sports Southwest. It’s the third game for Dallas in their longest homestand of the season. After a pair of cupcake games against the shockingly awful Portland Trailblazers, the Mavericks get the difficulty notch turned up to 11 against the Timberwolves. Dallas has lost 7 of their last 8 against the Wolves (including pre-season games) dating back to the 2021-22 season. Let’s get to the key things:

  • WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs Minnesota Timberwolves
  • WHAT: Game 3 of a long home stand for the Mavericks
  • WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas Texas
  • WHEN: 6:30 pm CST
  • HOW: Bally Sports Southwest

The injury report is familiar to Dallas Mavericks fans. Though Luka Doncic will play through an ankle injury (swelling, whatever that means), regular rotation members Dante Exum and Maxi Kleber are still out. Dereck Lively II is doubtful, which is all but out, it’s just not yet official. Markieff Morris and Grant Williams are questionable.

The Timberwolves are real, real good and getting a win against them tonight would be by far the best win of the regular season for the Mavericks. I don’t see how they will do it, the Wolves seem to have their number. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are going to need to bring their very best to the game. But that’s why we play the games. I’ll be on the recap tonight, so expect far too many words. Thanks for hanging out on Mavs Moneyball, we’ll be back tonight with plenty of thoughts I’m sure.
