Injury Report: Monta Ellis to miss first game with Mavericks

New, comments

Monta Ellis is out.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Heading into Sunday's game against the Indiana Pacers, the Dallas Mavericks will once again be shorthanded due to injuries. Starting shooting guard Monta Ellis will miss his first game since joining the Mavericks. It also ends his streak of 237 consecutive games played.

Ellis sustained a calf injury during Friday night's loss to the San Antonio Spurs. There is so far no timetable for Ellis' return. Richard Jefferson will start in place of Ellis.

Dallas will also be without backup point guard J.J. Barea. Barea has missed the last three games with an ankle injury.

As for the Pacers, they continue to be without their All Star small forward Paul George. Indiana could also be without Rodney Stuckey. Stuckey has missed the last three games with a sore left calf and is listed as questionable.

David West missed Indy's last game with an allergic reaction. He is expected to play tonight against the Mavericks.
