The Mavericks look to get back on track against the Sixers

New, comments

Dallas needs to notch a win against league-worst Philadelphia.

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports
What has Philadelphia done lately?

Well, they've been losing games. Like, a lot of them. They won a game earlier this month but that's about it. On the plus side for them, they are scoring a lot more than they used to.

What are Philadelphia's biggest strength and weakness?

The Sixers aren't a good team. They aren't supposed to be. But they are a young and athletic team. They sprint up and down the floor. They also lead the league in blocks per game. Plus, they have Ish Smith. Don't let his numbers deceive you. He's out here balling. Over 15 points per game? Just imagine how the Mavericks will help his average.

What do the Mavs need to do to be successful against the Sixers?

I can't say that I'm happy with the Mavs right now. The loss in Orlando was bad. I have a nagging feeling that they could drop tonight's game. But it's the 76ers. They have no business losing to the worst team in the league. Only the Mervs could pull off such a feat. Hell, this could be a Mervs game for all I know.

That said, I do think this game will be closer that it should. Dallas really needs to wake up and start playing like a team in a chase for playoff seeding rather than one that's considering a long summer. This should be an easy win but easy wins aren't part of the Mavs' lexicon. What do they need to do to win? A lot, frankly. But I'll settle for them making some (all) of their free throws. That and Chandler Parsons carrying the team offensively, Rick Carlisle allowing.

How do I watch the game?

You can watch the game on FSSW at 6 p.m. Central time. Or tune in on the radio! 103.3 FM. Chuck Cooperstein has the call with Brad Davis. Fun fact: Brad Davis is one just two players to have their numbers retired by the Mavs. Can you name the other one?
