WHO: Dallas Mavericks at Golden State Warriors
WHAT: Trade deadline fried our brains, but we will still basketball tonight
WHERE: ORACLE Arena, San Fransisco, CA
WHEN: 9:30 p.m. CT
HOW: Fox Sports Southwest or NBA League Pass
THE STORY: The Mavs (17-37) and Warriors (41-13) play a game tonight after an exciting NBA Trade Deadline. Golden State didn’t make any moves, because, I mean, why would they need to? The Mavs made a small move on paper, but a big one in our hearts, as Devin Harris was traded to the Denver Nuggets. It was a 3-team trade between the Mavs, Nuggets and Knicks, and Dallas received Doug McDermott and a second round pick. Harris will truly be missed in Dallas.
The Mavs are currently the worst team in the league. The Warriors are currently the best team in the league. So this should be an extremely fun game to watch tonight. In all seriousness though, the last time these two teams met up, they put on a show at American Airlines Center, with Steph Curry hitting a last second three to give the Warriors a 125-122 win. Also, Dennis Smith Jr. had a rough outing against the Clippers the other day, so I’d look for a bounce-back game from him tonight. Smith enjoys going up against the best in the business.
Injury report: the Mavs will be without Harrison Barnes (ankle) for this matchup, and the Warriors’ superstar, Kevin Durant is questionable (hand).
