The Dallas Mavericks (20-15) still host the Portland Trailblazers (9-24). The two teams play Friday night at 7:30 pm on Bally Sports Southwest. Dallas blew Portland off the floor in the Wednesday contest but lost multiple players to injury in the process. A win would be huge for Dallas as they’re inching towards a much tougher part of the schedule. Let’s get to the key things for the game tonight.
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs Portland Trailblazers
- WHAT: Game one of a long home stand for the Mavericks
- WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas Texas
- WHEN: 7:30 pm CST
- HOW: Bally Sports Southwest
The injury report sucks for Dallas. Dante Exum is out with a heel contusion. Dereck Lively is out with an ankle sprain. Richaun Holmes is out with personal reasons. Maxi Kleber is eternally out. Luka Doncic popped up on the injury report with right ankle swelling and I’ve been given indications he’s not going to play, which is very annoying because I am going to the game with my son.
For the Blazers, DeAndre Ayton is out as is Moses Brown and Robert Williams. So at least the Mavericks will be playing a team also challenged by size. Jabari Walker is doubtful as of this writing.
If Luka doesn’t play, hopefully we can get another Kyrie Irving Masterclass. The last game was mired by foul issues early on (in the favor of Dallas, but the game felt disjointed), so hopefully we get a better flowing game.
Thanks so much for hanging out, we will have the usual slot of things after the game. Might not be the best work because this game may well stink. But perhaps we’ll get a very entertaining game where the Mavericks pull out a strong win. Go Mavs.
